Kentucky's Agriculture Commissioner-Elect Tours OrganiLock

On December 4, 2023, OrganiLock had the privilege of hosting Kentucky's Agriculture Commissioner-elect, Jonathan Shell, along with his transition team co-chair, Steve Kelly. They came to understand what OrganiLock does and what our approach to soil health could mean for agriculture across the state. Joining them was Kentucky State Representative Wade Williams, a longtime advocate for OrganiLock and our work.

How OrganiLock got started

We walked the group through OrganiLock's story and how we make our products today, including the thinking behind Soil Food. Most garden and farm products feed the plant and forget the ground it grows in. Soil Food does the opposite: it feeds the living soil itself, so the biology underfoot can hold water, cycle nutrients, and keep land productive season after season.

Commissioner-elect Shell, Steve Kelly, and Representative Williams got a firsthand look at how OrganiLock turns raw organic material into finished product. Seeing it in person is the best way to understand what sets us apart: real manufacturing, designed and run right here in Kentucky.

What it means going forward

A visit like this is a meaningful milestone for a homegrown Kentucky company. It reflects a growing interest in soil-first agriculture and in local solutions that can help the state's growers succeed. Shell has since taken office as Kentucky's Commissioner of Agriculture, and we are grateful for the support of leaders like him and Representative Williams as we keep building.
